Vision

The Buddha’s teachings are founded on a degree of seclusion and simplicity within forested or rural areas. In the fundamental teachings as well as the great scope teachings of the Lotus Sūtra, we are advised to engage in seclusion and self-discipline while working for and being available to any who sincerely request the Dharma. The relationship between monasteries and the lay community is based on reciprocal caring and generosity in supporting each other towards Dharma realisation.

We hope to acquire property in Taiwan – or elsewhere in Asia depending on conditions – where monastics, lay priests, devotees, and visitors can live together for short or long term practice and connect with the vibrant communities here. The purpose of monasteries is none other than to engage deeply in embodying the Dharma through study and practice. The monastery becomes a conducive and stable environment for upholding the Vinaya and the Bodhisattva Precepts and engaging in various practices so one can return to the world and share the fruit of their efforts.

Practising Together

If you are interested in practising online with us in our weekly/monthly group discussions, chanting, ceremonies etc.), please contact us with a brief self-introduction, Dharma background, and your interest. We also maintain a WhatsApp group for discussion and announcements. We use a mixture of Japanese and Chinese materials and language. This is out of respect for our teachers and being in a multicultural-multilingual environment.

Stages of the Path with the Unlimited Lights Academy

We also collaborate with the Unlimited Lights Academy (U.L.A.) in Taiwan to support English-Chinese Dharma classes and retreats.

Dharma Support & Training

We conduct funerals, memorials, blessings, refuge, five precepts, or training as a monastic or lay priest.

Following the principles of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Dharma is always shared freely in the spirit of generosity.
Therefore we do never solicit for or accept donations for conducting ceremonies or teachings.

Statement Towards Inclusivity

We aim to balance equality with discernment, respecting differences in our individual conditions, personality, and practice while working together to offer equal support and good will. Inclusivity is an ongoing process which requires flexibility.

Gender, race, age, sexuality, ability, class, country of origin or non-conformity
are not grounds for disrespect or withholding the Dharma.

At the same time, these experiences also contribute to how we receive the Dharma and relate to one another.

Wherever a person is in their life is the path. Those conditions become the place of practice and transforming the mind.
We aim to apply this and the all embracing equality of the Lotus Sūtra in our interactions.
